ARB Locker, 4.88s & Compressor - DONE!

Man what a pita swapping a front diff is. The rear was so much easier. The hardest part was getting the diff out. Putting the new one in was easy(er). All in all everything went well and no busted knuckles which was a plus lol

Temp pre-runner lol

Then it was on to installing the compressor. With absolutely no place to put it, I decided next to th battery was the only solution. So I bought a metal plate to go from under the battery and extend out in the open area. Put an L bracket to extend the support, painted and bolted it all down. Works very well. Glad to be have this project done. Next will be 4.88s for the rear.

Did you have to pull your steering rack to get that diff out? Hard to tell from your pic if it's still in there or not. Nice job.

The pic shows the missing diff. Steering rack was left alone. The only thing that makes the diff difficult in getting out is the bolt that sticks down from the diff into the cross member as well as the pinion flange because it hits the bell housing. I finally said screw it and removed the flange to get it out. It's just a pain cus you have to lift up and wiggle it out. It's not light by any means.

How long did it take you to pull the front diff? Any special tools needed?
