ARB Compressor wiring

Two questions:

- for the Blu-Wht wire from switch #1, the diagram says "to dash illumination"...what is the purpose of this wire? the compressor is running without it.

- did you use loctite on the threads of the nipples when you installed them on the compressor per the ARB instructions?

- So the switch lights up when you turn on the headlights, that way you can see it at night.

- No loctite, just teflon tape.

The blu/wht for the illmination is for the swithces. When you turn your lights on they illuminate blue. I wired mine to..........can't remember but I can look if you want.

I used pipe dope and they leaked. Then I used teflon tape and no problems.

I will go look. I am almost sure I used on of the wires off the stereo........I am sure it was the factory wire used for the factory deck. I'll go look.

I have it attached to the ''positive dimmer'' (org/wht wire) wire that is coming off the harness I bought to install my new stereo (didn't want to cut wires and void warranty). Since I don't have the factory deck anymore and my new deck doesn't use the dimmer wire I figured I would give it a try and it works.

You're welcome. I also have a Factory Wiring Manual, for my Tacoma, but It may help locate a wire that will work.....
