Anyone running OME 883 springs on their 3rd gen runner??

I was looking at putting some 881s on the front but I've been told that with the bumper and winch the 881's are not strong enough. I had several suggest 882s but I don't want that much lift and get into CV issues.

I've come across several people here on yota tech mention running 883 springs. The charts show the 883 is the same length as the 881 but has a higher spring rate. But I can't find much info on people who have tired them.

Anyone out there with 883s on their runner ??

Arent those for the newer suspension..?

You have an arb and a winch.
The 882's WILL be enough, And NOT too much.

Yes but they fit the 3rd gens also. ToyTec has them http://www.toyteclifts.com/index.php...mart&Itemid=72

From their website

-883 --- Front Coil Springs. Used alone as leveling coils (approx. 1 1/2") for 07-09 FJ Cruiser, 05-09 Tacoma, & 03-09 4-Runner.
Also sold as heavy duty coils for 95.5-04 Tacoma & 96-02 4-Runner.

They will fit the 3rd gen and I've seen a couple of people here on yota tech that mention the 883s in their signature lines. I just want to how they compare to the 881s and 882s as far as actual ride quality.

I was thinking the same thing. I have 882's now, but just got an arb bumper and winch on the front. I'm going to wait a month or two and see if i get any significant sagging. If so, i might switch to 883's. When i was researching lifts, i think someone here said they where having more problems with tearing CV boots with the 882's then the 883's.

i'm tired and super hungover otherwise i'd elaborate right now, but i've had both and the 883s are better. just make sure you have the proper coil to level the rear, the 891 might even be too short

I have the 882's up front with no aftermarket bumper and got 3" of lift. With a bumper, I'd guess they'd give ~2.5-2.75" of lift. From what I've read, the 883's will give as much lift as the 882's but don't sag at all.

From looking at the charts the 882 is 15.55" tall uncompressed and has a spring rate of 500 lb per inch.

The 883 is 14.76" tall uncompressed and has a spring rate of 590 lb per inch. It has the same uncompressed height as the 881 but has a higher spring rate to it.

So the 882 is taller from the start but one you put weight on it I'm guessing yea it will end up at the same level as the 883. But with the 883 you won't get nearly the sag.

So anyone running or has run 883s on their runner ??

With a shrockworks bumper and warn 8000 winch my 882s have sagged way down. I think I have a 1" - 1.5" lift in front now. The best solution IMHO is adjustable coilovers.

The 883's will lift you higher than the 881's. I think there about the same as the 882, but won't sag with the weight. I think there around 3" or a little more of lift on a 3rd gen. To level them your probably going to need LC coils for the back.

Luckily I just came across this thread, I was about to buy some OME 882s but now I'm rethinking that. I've got a TJM 15 and Warn M8000 up front, and my Revtek spacer lift has sagged pretty badly at this point. I just want some coils up front that will hold the added weight without sagging, give about 2.5" to 3" of lift, and give a good ride. I've already got OME shocks up front and OME coils/shocks in the rear. Also, where can you buy the 883s? I've only found them sold individually (not as part of a kit) on one site for $170.

i know toytec has them. You might want to give trdparts4u.com a try too. That's where i got my lift and they had the best price of anyone.
