anyone replace the lower bushing one idler and pitman arms? 2nd gen runner.
my setup: wcor long arms, tbars cranked to 15" under the xmember, 33" SS TSL's.
i went to the alignment shop the other day and the tech showed me how the was some play affecting the toe alignment. looks like the lower bushings on the idler and pitman arms are bad. are these replaceable? are there bronze bushings for these?
thanks,
Deo

i've already done that rebuild. i actually used bronze bushings instead of the replacement stock bushings. i'm talking about the other end of the idler arm (and pitman arm). it's the part that connects to the steering linkages.

now i'm wondering if that really is the problem. don't the ends of those arms just have a ball type joint that swivels? i'm not sure but when the tech took some load off of the front end, he showed me how he can pull the front of the 2 front tires together slightly. i just looked like the bushings (if there are bushings in there) in the ends of the idler and pitman arms were bad.
any ideas or trouble shooting tips?
thanks,
Deo
