I was thinking about maybe powdercoating my wheels rather then buying new ones. I was looking for someone with pics if possible and for opinions on doing this. heres is my runner now

I'd buy new ones.. I've never liked the look of those wheels..

But if you're thinking of powdercoating them, you have to get the tires removed and send them to a professional. It'll probably cost close to buying other wheels (maybe not new...). Then put the tires back on.

What colours were you thinking of? Black, gunmetal, bronze, etc?

IMO, just spray paint them, its a lot cheaper.. not as durable, but whatever..

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the Sport rims either. I've always heard them called the "flower" rim b/c they look just like a flower in bloom.

I'm sure it's just the lighting in your picture, but your rims already look gun metal now. Here's a pic of mine:

Personally, I think these rims would look better PC'd in gun metal. I've been looking at getting some new wheels too, but I'm having a hard time deciding on which ones to get. I can't decide if I should go w/ another factory OEM rim or go aftermarket.

Good luck with your decison. Any thought on some LC rims?

It's all personal preference, I personally like the sport wheels the best, but that's just IMHO.
I think they look good PC'd in gunmetal too.

I only liked the Sport Edition Rims on Stepdads Stock Runner...
IMHO it's all up to you what you do...
PCing them in Gunmetal would be awsome...
If I'm Not mistaken, you Runner is in the Thundercloud Color Correct?

Would deff look good...

Back to your question. There is no reason, that I can see, why you can't PC them. You will have to have then stripped first. If you like them, go for it. Keep in mind that if you buy new you have choices on width and back spacing.

i am thinking about pc'n mine too, i hate aftermarket offroad wheels for some reason. i've got some estimates for like $35 per wheel, i just dont have time to do it. do you have a pic of your truck on level ground, in that pic it looks like it has a huge rake

Gun metal gray, anthracite, or black. Theres alot of options out there for PC so you have to take your time and pick the color you really want. PC stays on there for a very long time if prepped properly. Localmotion (Matt) is right...I am running a special of 50% off PC on everything til the 1st Feb. Essentially, I am doing rims at $25/rim. Its an awesome deal, because call around and see who will sandblast, pretreat, coat, and clear coat your rims for this price. Most places don't even pretreat, but it is the key essential to keeping the powder sticking to that rim. If you want some color options, check out my website. I have a color page on there with 4 different charts for you guys to choose from.

What size was the wheel? Did you want special colors that I do not have in stock? Did you want more than one color? Did you want clear coat? Was there a special at the time? My special excludes size, color, and involves clear coat...so at $25/wheel I think its alot better than the standard $75/wheel....what do you think?

if its gona be 75 a wheel I might just look for some new wheels. Ive seen many good looking black powdercoated wheels for around 150 I figured powdercoating would have been a much cheaper option
