Anyone paint their 2nd gen? (have it painted)
A couple questions for any 2nd geners that had their rides painted professionally.
How much, ballpark, did you pay for the job?
Did you have to drop the factory decals down the side? Or is that a part you can get at the stealership?
How long, ballpark, did it take?
Pics?

New paint??
If I ever have my '89 repainted (God knows it needs it), those factory decals will be LONG GONE. I do NOT like 'em!
A good job is probably gonna cost $2500. or more.
You can get it done cheaper, of course. You'll get what you pay for.

I was quoted a ballpark of $2500 for a good quality paint job that I could expect to last. I settled for getting a professional detail after having my body stripes removed and it came out looking SWEET!!

My then wife scraped off one side on my 85 in the driveway. I knew someone who ran a body shop and since I used to send him a lot business when he was getting started he owed me. So he did a door skin, smoothed the creases out the one side, peeled all the decals, painted them back on (beautiful job too!) and painted the one side and clearcoated the whole thing. All it cost me was my $300 deductible.
On the '90, the total repaint, plus flames, airbrushed murals, airbrushed and pinstriped highlights, etc would cost in excess of $10,000, and that's if you disassemble and reassemble it yourself...
