Anyone mod a Hella DE to OEM/Factory Fog Bracket?
Noob here -- first post. My OEM fog lens was cracked and I need to replace it. I have the limited 'fat lip' front end with OEM lights/brackets, but wanted to switch to the Hella DE projection fogs [seems in searching the webs for a solution the fine folks posting in this candy store may have started me down a dangerous ($$) path ]
Unfortunately Hella doesn't make the 4Runner kit anymore, and all are sold out at both Yellow & Blue lighting and RallyParts.com, so I'm stuck either going back to a cr*p OEM replacement for the same price, or rigging up a mount.
Wondering if anyone has managed to mount to the existing OEM bracket? I called Hella today to get their bracket specs thinking I could fab one, but they had to destroy them when their Toyota contract ended.

You can get the hella kit on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/TOYOTA-SR5-4...item5ad8e06ee6
Not sure about mounting the hellas to the original mounts.

Need just the glass?
If you just need the glass and it's for a 1998 4runner, I can help you out. I have various parts including one complete glass assembly for the 1998 style (rectangular) headlights.
PM me for additional information.

This may be a dumb question, but I've been assuming the bracket mounting points are the same on a Limited and SR5, though the Ebay page says SR5 only. Can anyone confirm this will work with the limited front end?

From what I've read the retail MicroDE HID is a driving light (and $$$), and the H3 a projection fog that has better throw than the OEM fogs and can also be modded to an HID fog with good cut-off pretty easily for ~$30. Those two reasons are why I'm looking to replace both mine with the MicroDE fogs instead of picking up a $70 OEM fog replacement from Amazon.
This bracket issue I think will start cropping up a lot going foward since Hella stopped producing the 4Runner kit a year or two back and the main distributors are now out of stock. I called around quite a bit.
If I get the Ebay kit I'll measure the brackets and post a rough drawing, though I suppose that will only be hepful if you can still get the vertical mounting bracket version of the lights which also seem to be in short supply (Hella part HL96621).

The Limited came with the OEM Koito foglights. the brackets for the Koitos are different from the ones used on the MicroDEs but the Koito brackets will also work with the SE & SR5 and I'm almost 100% sure that the MicroDE brackets will also work on the Limited
