Anyone Have Any Pics Of Polished Wheels?

I was calling around today for the American Racing 16x8 Python chrome or polished wheels, but there is a big $$$ difference. For the polished its about $150cdn and the chrome is $380cdn, I asked the sales clerk if there was a big difference between the two and he said that the polished is a bit less shiny than the chrome. I'm not really too sure which one should I get? So I need some pics of polished wheels. I hope you guys can help.

thanks

VL:

I have the American Racing 16x8 Atlas in chrome. I went with chrome because it's easier to keep clean. Every other vehicle I have owned had polished rims and I was always having to buff them to make them look good.

But, it depends what type of look your looking for. If you want I high shine with low maintenance...go chrome.

Go with chrome.

I had polished wheels on my Ram. They definetly look nice when polished but are a pain in a$$ to maintain. If you don't keep them up they can stain from brake dust, dirty water, etc......

2 cents

What would you have to do to maintain the wheels to look real good? I would go for the chrome but I'm a student and I can't really afford the chrome at the moment Do the polished wheels look as good as the chrome when all cleaned up and everything?

Polished wheels look awesome when polished up. I think they look better than chrome sometimes.

A good high quality polish and sealer works good. Make sure the polish is non abrasive.

If you take care of them they'll look good all the time. With chrome you run the risk of chipping the chrome. The plus is they clean up really easy and shine all the time.

Good luck,

Serge

I've had polished rims on my Runner for a couple years now and I havent had any problems with em'. But, as everyone has noted, they are harder to keep clean than the chrome rims. When they got stained after the first year of road abuse, I was recommended the Mother's line of polished wheel wax or this atesol (sp?) stuff. Anyway, the Mother's was much easier to find and it took all the staining and grime off no problem. So, if you want to save a few bucks and put in some extra work once in a while to keep them clean...you'll have a very shiny set of polished aluminum rims that will closely mimic chrome rims.

Anyway, thought I would throw in my 2 cents...hope this helps.

Sorry...got no pics of them though.

I have owned (on various vehicles):
Polished: Hard to maintain, SLC puts salt on the roads for the ice and it caused them to "pit" which doesn't come out.

Chrome: Expensive, can chip.

Painted: Easy to maintain, cheaper, can chip.
