Anyone In FL Know Of Any Good Places To Go Offroading That You Wont Get Arrested Going To? As Of Now My Truck Is Stock, But I Have A 3" Lift On The Way (itll Be Here Thursday) Then Im Buying 32" Tires. So Nothing Too Too Bad. Thanks

im in deland.. thats 22 miles west daytona, basically if you take international speedway out of daytona its where it comes up to a taco bell and wendys

i was just there a few weeks ago playing the daytona cubs...... not sure on any tried and true places, but i know big cypress nat. preserve has a orv park. only thing is you have to purchase a permit which is 50.00, but i think its good for a year, and you have to get your vehicle inspected before they let you in.

you're not far from me at all.
Tiger bay wildlife preserve isn't too far. It is right between you and me on US-92. Nothing major in there, but some sand, or mud, depending on the time of year.

yeah ive heard alot about the ocala national forest... ive been to that tiger bay place when i had a 2wd. but i think the sherrif shooting range is out there isnt it? and im sure offraoding is not legal there lol

actually it is legal as long as you stay on the named roads. some times of the year it is pretty decent. When I go there I'll go down any road that doesn't say "no motor vehicles."

I'm in Fort Lauderdale and really haven't found much around here for wheeling. I got all excited about Big Cypress right after I bought my truck, but turns out that your tires have to be a certain width in the contact patch and they do actually measure it. My tires don't quite make it, so I'm not allowed in there. I have driven up to Georgia a few times for some offroading, next on my list to check out is Ocala. I found this site http://www.miami4wd.com where these local guys took some very nice pics up at Ocala Nat Forest.

They require 9" of tread face, which they define as contact width. A co-worker drove over there one Saturday with a 2004 Wrangler Rubicon with the stock Goodyear MTRs. They didn't allow him into the park. The next day we measured the tread on mine truck, which at the time had BFG AT 31x10.50 and they too did not have enough width. Pretty much you will need an 11.50 tire to be able to pass inspection. Once you pass the inspection and sit through a 45 minute training video, you can then buy the $50 annual pass.

damn taht sound slike alot of work for that place. when i get my lift and tires, im gonna go to that tiger bay place and check it out. sounds like my best bet.

Wonder why they have a tread width requirement...hmmmm I knew about the 50.00 annual pass, but didn't know you had to sit thru a 45 training video, but I imagine that shows you the correct way they want you to drive in there and what not. I'm sure its like this since alot of that area was tore apart by 4x4's...thats what I'm guessing from reading all the info about the place on the web.
