Anyone ever use Time-certs to tap threads?

Anyone ever use Time-certs to tap threads?
I'm using Time-cert to tap the threads of a spark plug and want to verify something. Looking at the 'step tap' tool, it looks like I should rotate it 'clock-wise', but it doesn't mention the rotation anywhere in the instructions.
