These?
![]() ![]() I've had them for roughly 20k miles so far. The fronts are wearing out but the backs have a good 10 sill left on them. I just never rotated them like I should have. They're really loud. And when I say loud I mean it, they hum like crazy and rattle stuff in the cab haha. I think they got louder though with less tread, which isn't out of the ordinary. The ride is decent for an m/t and they do pretty good on and offroad. I've never slipped in the rain. If you're going from an A/T to these you'll feel the difference. They don't pull to every crevice in the road though. For the price they are good. The only thing I was worried about was after I had put about 10k on mine I was intrigued to find out by a couple people they had a recall cus the checks on the sidewalls would split. Mine have been fine and never caused me any problems though. Might wanna check into the recall thing cus I'm not 100% sure but overall I've been happy. Here lately I just turn my volume up to drown out the humming. Good luck! John

I have the 265/70/16 bf a/t's now, i thought thoses federals might be a little louder considering the tread style, but u said really loud, oh well, i've got atleast 25-30% tread left on those bf's and i'm just gonna keep'em on their orig.oem toy rims, and i guess if i can't handle the music, i guess i can always throw them back on ..hahaha.. I bought some 10'' x 16'' steelies w/ worn down procomps on them for $100 and found this other guy on c.l. With the federal's wanting $200 for the set of 4 and thought i couldn't go wrong

how much tread is left on the federalies (my nickname for em
)? If it's only like 50% I would pay over 150 for them.

You basically pay for what you get in a set of tires. I used to sell tires for Sears Auto Center here in SLC. I have found it is rare (if it does even happen) that an "off-branded" tire will outperform a "name brand" tire. I consider the Federals to be an off-brand. They are not a BFG, Michelin, Goodyear, Bridgestone etc. All I know is that I am uber happy with my Michelin LTX AT2 tires, they will take me anywhere and they are super quiet. I now have about 20 K on them and they still look new. I had a set of BFG AT K/O's (LT Version) and the guy I bought my truck from said that he put them on at about 25K miles when he bought it. I retired them at 118K and they still had 3-4 mm of tread. They were getting noisy. I would never expect 90K + miles out of a set of Federals.
What is the take home message? You pay for what you get in a set of tires. Spend less, get less. Spend more and get more. I spent $800 for my LTX AT2's for my stock rims (265/75/16).
