Any San Diego welders?

I called up Protrux and they want a whopping $75 per side to weld on some sliders!
I like their business and from what I hear they lost their welder and this is some outside contractor but $75 PER SIDE?!?!?

Anyone know somebody in San Diego that would be able to weld these bad boys on?

If I get desperate enough I'll pay Demello a visit but I really dislike that drive and would like to keep it a little closer.

Get a quote from The Truck Shop also. They are in Miramar. (858) 408-0314. The owner is James Ederer, who is the son of Jim Ederer, who owns Protrux.

BTW, who did you get the sliders from and what vehicle do they go on?

Austin Allen is the guy who used to weld for Protrux, and is doing stuff independently now, so Jim can't screw him. I will PM you his cell # so you can call and get a price.

...is there something I should know about Protrux? I was under the impression that this was the place to go to?

Have you gone to this shop yet? Are they up to Protrux standards with service and quality? Or should I stay with Protrux?

Oh and these are Stubbs sliders.

Jim screws employees, not customers. It is more beneficial to be a customer there than an employee. For most customers he goes out of his way to give a good deal, to the point where he looses money sometimes. For employees on the other hand, he goes out of his way to pay them as little as possible, always to the point of loosing employees.
An example of this is shown in that the person who has been there the longest, as of right now, has been working there about 6 months.
Since I left, he has gotten new mechanics, and I don't know what kind of quality they give, so that's why I don't refer them for service anymore, just parts, cause yoiu will get a good deal.

That saddens me. Although it doesn't supprise me. I just got a U-Joint replaced there...and the had to take it back cause they didn't finish it right. I'd rather do it myself or pay a little more to know I have agood mechanic. I think I'll still give them another try though.

Isn't this what happened with his other shop? (The one in Mira Mesa...run by his son I guess?)

Hmmm $100 for each truck.
Not terribly bad but I can't say that it's terribly good either...
