Any changes between years on the 3.0?? PS pump question

Got a 92 Runner with a 3.0 and I'm needing to replace the power steering pump. Found a guy that has one off his 88 but before I buy it I wanna know if there are any changes....or will the 88's be identical to the 92's?

TIA

I don't know if there were any changes but it is really cheap just to rebuild them if yours is leaking. The kits are between $20-45 depending on where you get them.

I know the repair but it's sometimes a PITA so I was wanting to buy this used one offa 88 I have a line on and just swap em out. That way I can take my time and rebuild it when I don't have so many things goin'on.

Thanks though.

When I was buying a rebuild kit for mine there where at least 3 different part numbers for the different PS pumps. I had one dealer telling me one part number and another dealer telling me another part number.

You won't have much downtime doing the rebuild. The hardest part for me was getting the pulley off, it didn't look rusted, but there was rust beween the pulley and shaft. I've heard that a gear puller will just bend the pulley, so I used a pry bar between the pulley and pump and twisted the pry bar.

Thanks Mt. Goat.
As far as swapping one for the other I shouldn't have any problems. (you think?)
I'm picking it up for 40 bux shipped so it's about the same as a kit but I'll have a spare to fix and keep or fix and sell.

I have no idea what the difference is between the pumps but they had different rebuild kits for each.
