Another Wheel Poll - this one has pics!

The time is getting near to replace my second set of 32" BFG AT's. I'll be going to 33's which means time for 8" wide wheels. I haven't ruled anything out yet, but I've included the ones I'm leaning toward. Here's a shot of the rig for those of you who haven't seen it:

Ha

Ha! I got 100% of the votes! Well at least for a second... I think all except the Ultra 50-51 would look fine. I mean I can find pro's for each. If you get them black then it would match your brush/tail guards. If you get the Ultra 162 (I had to vote for it) it will accent with your paint job and you get the off-road look and bead locks. If you want aluminum (I like aluminum wheels) go for the MT Classic II's. I voted for the Ultra 162's just because their Axxis Regulator couterpart sells for $600 per wheel and I know you can get four of the ones Ultra makes for around $800. I actually think a black wheel would look best on yours though looking at the pic of your rig again. Maybe you could name it black and blue... yeah I know my jokes suck... :pat:

I voted for the Classic Locks, as I like soda pop can wheels.
The black wheels are nice too, but ya gotta paint' 'em when they get scrached up.

The alloy ones clean up nicely with polish twice a year.
That is why I still have my Centerlines on, as I like the alloy look, and they are tough wheels.

If I replace my Centerlines one day, the Classic Locks will more than likely be the ones I get.

I vote for the black 'uns. My next set will either be street locks or plain ol' rockcrawlers.

well i love my stock rims, same as yours, but i voted for the rockcrawlers. the street locks would look good and less imitation if it had a lot more bolts to it. those would be my second choice.

aftermarket flashy chrome rims just dont look right on a 4runner

Woody - Not sure why no pics. They should still be working...

Everybody - I plan to do custom front and rear bumpers at some point. I was at the powder coater and they had all sorts of blacks, but what really interested me was something called "mirror" which looks a lot like polished aluminum. I also envisioned the Classic locks on the rig - after removing the rings and having them powder coated a translucent blue (ala American Chopper - for those that saw that episode)

Translucent blue

Translucent blue over chrome is what they call Kandy-coated if ya ever hear that term. I thought about buying chrome wheels, chrome brush/tail guards, and chrome nerf bars and then having all of it Kandy coated... decided to get a supercharger instead. It would be wild looking for sure though! I might still do it later... if I can save up enough pennies... I'm sure some people would ridicule me for it but I like being original and blue is my favorite color anyways.

Cebby,
I have always like the looks of the MT Classic II on the second gen 4Runner but the Ultra 162s would be a sweet match with the blue accent. The Ultras look like they are big $$.

I need a custom rear bumper for my 4Runner too. Have you found a local fab shop in "the burg" that will make one for you?

I have a couple of folks I know with metal bending capabilities, laser cutting, hydro cutting, and or course welding. I started designing both a front and rear bumper (and sliders), but I've been jammed up for time, so I haven't been able to finish it. I keep working out details in my head, but haven't been able ot put them on paper...

The goal is to market them eventually. I was a powdercoating place last week that I'll use...

i vote for the rockcrawlers. street locks and such don't do it for me, what's the point of looking like you have beadlocks but not actually having them?

I voted for RockCrawlers. But I'd go with these RockCrawlers:

Except I'd get em black powdercoated. I know they make them black but I cant find a pic on the net.

Eaton and Wheelers make those. I almost put those in there, too.
