Another tire question (WIDTH)

So Im lifting my 4runner with the OME setup, and want new tires, but, did not want to go higher really, id rather go wider.

So, what is a good size with the stock rims, for width? I like to keep my tire size around 31 "...how wide can i go w/o rubbing? Or do I need new rims to see any considerable change in width?

Would a 265/75/R16 be wider, and a little larger height?

265/75/16 would be about a 32x10.50. I think an 11.50" wide tire would be the max for stock 7" rims.
