Another step towards dechroming...

I painted my grill last night. I used the writeup on (shhhh....) customtacos. Actually, a pretty decent writeup, and I think it came out pretty good for rattle canning it. I went with Krylon Semi Flat, because I wanted the color to match the tupperware on the front bumper. I am thinking about painting the chrome on the bumper too, but it will be a lot of work taking it apart. I'll probably just leave it untill I have the dough for an TJM or equivilent. I know a lot of you guys like chrome, but I really like how it looks now.

Looks excellent... Your rig will look even better when you get a bumper to match it.

Ah, I think it looks refreshing the way it is.

I recall reviewing the window sticker of my 4Runner (yup, still around) and they removed the chrome bumpers at the dealership. I like the way it looks with the gray? bumpers.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. $$$'s tight right now, so it will probably be a while, but with a TJM or something similar, it's gonna look very sweet.

Ooohhh, I like!
I say get off your lazy behind and get that bumper done! It will look so sweet. While you are at it, repaint those red hooks and maybe even the silver skidplate. At least the red hooks though!

What, you don't like my red recovery shackles? Actually, I thought the red would look better than it did when I was done.. I just haven't repainted them yet...

Awesome CJ! You are well on your way.

Here is a quick chop with a black bumper and clear corner lights...you know, necessary stuff.

Oh man!!! Well, I know what I'll be doing in the next few weeks... That's a great chop, Christian. I'm gonna save that pic and use that as a reference for what I'm aiming for.
