Another Steering Clunk thread
I searched the other threads, but my clunk appears to be different because it only occurs at full steering lock. At full lock, going over a pothole (or other type of step down) I get a nice loose "clunk"... is that normal? Is it going to get worse?
It drives and steers perfectly fine as long as I don't crank the wheel all the way, so I haven't been too worried about it... but if it's an easy fix or it's going to get worse, I'd like to do somethiing about it.
By the way, '95 SR5 V6 5-spd, stock. Thanks all.

Im having the same thing happen on mine, any way to fix it or is it perfectly normal? Sounds kind of annoying when i have to turn it all the way. Where exactly are these rubber bump stops? What do they do? I thought it was my ball joints but after reading this, this is exactly what is happening to mine. At full steering wheel lock, it will clunk, i thought it was something hitting the frame or something.

My truck creeks not clunk if I do not grease the wheel stops. Every time I change my oil, I grease up the stop. If you look under your truck near the wheel, close to the ground, you will see a metal that appears to have no purpose. Now turn your wheel until it stops towards the engine. Now look under the car, you should see that the metal now contacts you wheel. I'm trying my best to explain...sorry. Once you grease it up, you should not hear the clunk anymore. Oh, I use bearing grease. g/l
