Another project completed! [Cargo cabinet]
Today, during lunch, I decided to pick up some carpet to finish my cargo cabinet. My dad and I built it last August, and until now it had has just bare wood.
Here's the finished product:
The carpet is about two shades darket than the interior. Everything else the shop had was too brown, too yellow, or too red. Oak is a difficult color to match when it comes to carpet.
The passenger-side drawer will hold my Coleman camp stove, camping recliner, sleeping back, cot, and tent. The other side will hold all my canned food, propane, lantern, and most of my other odds and ends.
Eventually, I will incorporate a sink, latrine, jacuzzi, and trash compactor.

The dimensions of the box are: 13"H x 37"W x 37"L.
I paid $7.95/yard for the carpet. I bought 2 yards and have a lot left over.

Looking good! I am still trying to figure out how I am going to live in my Runner for 12 days haha. Did it for 5 with no probs but it's going to be interesting that's for sure!

I have been going to mammoth form San Diego 3 days every week for the ski season and have a few small things that might make it more fun.
a second batt helped the most and was cheep.
Flexable reading lamps, ones with white & red lenses for neighborhood camping)
12V outlets for inverter and cell charging and obviously the flexable reading lamps mine were hard wired but I recomend using the plug in type.
Black out drapes, I was sleeping in the bed in a topper that had carpet, so velcro ( hook not pile ) worked for me but double stick velcro would work great. I went to riggers school in ft. lee so the stiching was easy.
bringing some small amplified battery powered speakers and mp3/CD player a great thing in camp sites and going to sleep at night. I was always worried about my starting battery so leaving the trucks radio wasn't going to happen.
a welcome matt helps changing shoes and works really well if its raining/snowing
a good supply of clean wipes and towels
something to go #1 into. they do sell a dry toilet that goes into a 2" reciever.
x-tra pillows make sitting around very nice and if you have a therma rest putting that ontop of a 3" open cell foam pad makes the night comfie AND warm. worry about your food, THINK bears.
