After searching through threads on here and TTORA all day yesterday, I'm now more confused than before. So I thought I'd just try to get a few things cleared up. I have a '96 Tacoma SR5 V6, Automatic Ext Cab. I'll proabably be doing some mild to medium wheeling, nothing too extreme.

1) I want to lift my truck probably 2.5-3" suspension and then a 2-3" body.
I'm trying to figure out what kind of suspension lift to do. I know there are spacers, coilovers (ie. SAW, Donehoe, etc.), the OME stuff, and also something about Tundra coils (which from what I've been reading just confuses the hell out of me). So given that I won't be doing any real extreme wheeling what would you guys recomend? I'd like to keep it cheap but if something is significatly better I wouldn't mind shelling out the extra money.

2) I've been read that shackels are better for the rear lift if you're not going to be doing much hauling or towing. So would I want to get these as oppsed to AAL's since I'm not going to be doing a whole lot of towing or hauling?

3) If I end up getting 3" suspension and 3" body, will 35's fit my truck or is that just pushing it? If not I'll probably just end up doing at 2" BL and stick w/ 33's.

My main concern is getting my 1st question cleared up, so any input would be very greatly appreciated.

Have you tried looking at the link below? It gives you the pros and cons of each lift and how much is should cost. It's a good read. As for the fronts, I would buy the coilovers to get you the 2-2.5" needed. Do it right the first time a forget about it. As for the rears, well, you'll have to decide what's best for you. #3....

For 35s, you would need about 8" of total lift according to the TTORA tire vs. lift schart:

Shackles are a good way to get a mild lift but you won't want to do much more than maybe 2" of lift with shackles alone, since they get really long and that can cause other issues:

An AAL combined with a longer shackle is a decent option, or get a new lift spring pack built to give you the lift, ride quality and load capacity you want.

Up front, for lifts of 2" or higher, consider adding a diff. drop kit to lower the CV joint angles:

Yeah, I was definitally going to get at Diff. drop kit so as no to cause too many problems.
The 35's aren't that big of a deal, I was just curious if they would fit or not. And it looks like I'll probably be going w/ AAL for the rear and maybe shackels as well. Thanks for the info
