Another Lift, Combo Question, Will They All Laugh At Me?

Hello

I have searched and read the forums on lifts etc

this is my dilemna...I have new tires and for now would like to use them for my lift

they are 265 75 16s on stock rims, and are mint

will my truck look totally ridiculous with a 3 inch Rev Tek lift and a 2 inch roger body lift?

Does the Rev Tek really only give you about 2.5 anyway?

I plan eventually to run the 285s on it with this same lift set up on stock wheels, I like the look of SC4Runners truck

Anyone ever run tires this size with this type of lift? maybe today I will have 4.5 inches of total lift? Come spring time I will be in the shape to do the tires but for now want to make due....Thanks in advance and sorry to beat a dead horse, I could find info on running 265 75s with this type of lift

I ran 265/75/16's on mine with a 3" susp lift until I could afford the 285's. it didn't look too rediculous, I only noticed that it looked better with the bigger tires. I can find a pic of it later if you want. I never had the 2" BL with the 265's though. I would hold off on the BL until you get the 285's, just my opinion though.

i just recently added a daystar 2.5 lift and ran my stock 265/70/16 and it didnt look too bad.. i was much happier when i got my 285/75/16 durango radial a/t's...

mine looked similar to that only I had 265/75/16 BFG A/T's and those same wheels.

Wait to do the bodylift til you get the 285s... it would look rediculous. You can get away with just susupension and 265s, but I think 285s are too small for that setup. I would definately go 33s with that setup. There are guys running 35s with that setup.

Personally, I think (after the suspension) the body lift makes the 285s look small, it doesn't look bad in these pics but when I did the lift they definately looked small again.




I'm getting 33" MTs next time around...

so maybe just do the 3 inch suspension for now and run my existing tires

then when i am ready for the 285's throw the body lift in

so saletel,,,,,,,the brownish color fourrunner that is posted here (yours that is) has some type of 3 inch lift and 265/75s?

Thats what I wouuld do... plus the money you'll save on gas will get you the 285s faster

I think he was saying that he had a different type of lift. Looks like he has SAWs up front, instead of a spacer lift... same amount of lift though...

i will put the stuff in 3 inch lift and the bl

then two days later i will force myself to buy tires!

285mm=11.22in=section width
.75=aspect ratio (aspect ratio x section width = wall height)
16=wheel OD

.75*11.22*2+16=32.83in to be exact. To me, that is 33 inches.

305/70/16's are just wider:

305mm=12in section width
.70*12*2+16=32.81in - so 305/70/16 is actually even less than 33 than the 285's are.

They are close, but a 285 AT will look a lot smaller than a 33" MT, not only will you have that .2 but the tread will be bigger also. If I can get a 34" I will, but they are hard to come by and the ones I have found are like 13-14.5" wide... Could a 13" wide tire fit on a 8" wide wheel?

height-wise it's only .1 more lift. but really, .2" isn't noticeable and is actually negligible. the tread width is only 3/4" wider but noticeable.

check out this .pdf on BFG's site. it shows the rim width rec's for the BFG M/T's.

notice BFG claims 33.1" OD for the 285's that I have on an 8" rim like I've got. so if you want it taller pick the right rim width. wider rim will makes it smaller, skinnier rim makes it taller.
