I'm going to change my oil to amsoil soon and want to know which amsoil filter # do I need to order or can I still use Toyota oil filters?

SDF 57 is the one that fits the V6.

Thumbs up

I changed to Amsoil without changing filter brand - I use Toyota.
You may want to read other posts that talk about bigger (longer) filter that might provide better/more filter capability.
My change to Amsoil resulted in a much quiter running engine. The tapping noise went away within 20 miles and now I hear other noises that the engine makes.

It wasn't the filter that made it quieter, it was the oil... Read it again.

Most people use the SDF-34 AMSOIL oil filter. It is slightly longer then the SDF-57.

Why in the world would you use the best oil in the world and not use the best oil filter in the world to go with it?? In every standardized test the AMSOIL SDF oil filter line comes out as the best filter there is.

Well, I bought a case of Amsoil from a local tuning shop but they do not see the filters. Local parts stores do not carry Amsoil filters so I need to search for a store or shop or the 'net for a place to buy the filter.
Thanks for the number.

I just looked in my Amsoil box as I am getting it changed next week, and my filter in there is the 57.
That is the one I have used for the past few years now.

I wonder if I have room for the bigger 34?
Toyota's Express Lube does my oil for me, so perhaps I'll stop off at the Amsoil dealer which is one block from the Toyota dealer and pick up the 34 just to see if they can squeeze it in there or not.

I know a lot of people have trouble finding this stuff, and I feel pretty lucky having the main WA. state office only a few miles from me to get my Amsoil from.

hey Gadget, does that mean that we can buy Amsoil products directly from you and if so how? I tried your web site but it keeps directing me to the corporate website. Thanks for the help.

Corey

Yes there is room for the 34.

FYI: The SDF-34 is the filter for a 2000 Ford Taurus 3.0 V6. It has the same size ID and OD and thread pitch. SO...if you ever wanna run a bigger filter but dont know which would work, just look up filter for 2000 Taurus 3.0 V6 SOHC engine. I have done this before for a bigger WIX filter and now running the Mobil 1 filter for the Taurus. It is about 33-45% bigger than stock size.
