is it me or is the Amsoil Air Filter a lot smaller than the Stock paper filters?

I had a friend question me why my Amsoil Air Filter is so small. He said it wasn't adequate enough to cover the whole box, which could allow dirt and other crap to blow in.

Would anyone know what is the proper size of the Amsoil Air Filter for the '98 4Runner?

I'm guessing you got the wrong filter if the '98 air box is the same as a '01. It should be part # TS 115 from amsoil, and mine was actually a bit bigger than the OEM filter for the foam to mold to the sides of the inside of the airbox. If the '98 airbox isn't the same as a '01 then disregard what I just said. Hope this helps.

actually, it fits like a charm in my 96....the top is smooshed in a bit but i didn't have to force it in like others have...i just literally dropped it in ....and yes the part number is TS-115

TS-115 should fit snugly.

TS-115 is quite the snug fit. Same size, if not bigger.

Well, with mines there is some top area that is exposed when the filter is pushed down all the way and snapped in the fasteners.

Hmm...I think I will go measure my filter tonite and let you guys know the measurements of my filter.

I'm sure I ordered the TS-115, and this was a year ago. On the box it said "Parts/Order #15".

I hope they didn't put the wrong filter in the box.
