For all of those with the Power Surging Problem! Interesting Problem Found!
Ok, i have had the well known power suring when on the highway off and on for some time.
And today on my way home i just happened to figure out what it was. I was driving along fine and no surging. Then i went to change lanes and noticed that it was surging when i was but after i was done i looked at it and it had stopped.
So later I did the same thing. Well after the 3rd time i thought something is funny and turned on my blinkers, and sure enough my engine starts surging in tune to the blikers. I don't have a clue how this could be happening but it sure was doing it.
Turn the blinkers on = Instant Surging
Turn them off = Runs like normal
I am totally lost as to how this could even happen much less where to look. Any ideas?

Did you check the fluid in your turn signals? Mine was very low once and as soon as I topped it off....no more surging. I used Toyota OEM synthetic turn signal fluid.....

I know that is not the problem as i already have a beefed up wire there (had some extra when i installed my radio and put it there). But i guess it not be tight or something, i will look at it.

i have never noticed surging while driving, but i have at idle. in park, neutral, or drive as the rpms drop lower(to about 5 or 600) it automatically gives it gas and jumps to 1500. I think the ecu is telling it to do so because of power consumption so it raises the rpms to spin the alternator faster....or somethings broken =/

Well my idle is fine (a little low but fine).
When looking at my OBD scanner i noticed that my TPS is showing 12% = 15% when my foot is not on it at all, and only goes to a max of 75% when i am down to the floor.
Don't know if that is the way it is meant to be or if that could be a problem?

As for the WOT, i did mine with the engine off, that way i could do it all day and not have a problem lol.
Thanks for the info!

Yeah that seems weird. I didn't know it would show up with the engine off, learn something every day.

On the driver side there is a diagnostic port bolted to the side of the upper intake. There are 3 or 4 wires bolted right by that box tot he side of the intake plenum
