Talking All the Mods that can be done to a 3rd gen 4runner. Contest! Who knows the most?

UPDATED! 3-16-08

Ok, I have been searching for the last few weeks for all the mods that there are out there for the 3rd gen 4runners.

After all that searching I have come to a few conclusion:

We need a thread that has a list of ALL the Mods for 3rd Gens!

So I am starting this thread as an index of mod/parts/upgrades/maintenance items? that can/should be done to 3rd gens. Who knows, if we get a complete list the mods just might sticky this for future modders...

Here is what I want to do:

Post the name/description of the mod that you know of for 3rd gens, Rules:

You MUST post a link to what the mod is / why it is good / how to do it. Something that will tell people what it is you are talking about and how to do it.

I will update this first post with the mods as they are put up so that people don?t have to read all the way through the thread to see them all.

Ok, here are the ones I have and will start it off with!

Whole lot of mods on one site done to a 2nd gen but a lot can be done on a 3rd gen as well. Well worth a look.: http://pnw4runners.com/tando/modpics.htm

I've been looking for a good HID light install. I've searched and found a couple things but nothing authoritative. Any ideas?

Yeah, i got a kit off ebay that i am going to install as soon as i get time. The kit was $100 including shiping and it came with the H4-2 (high and low beam) bulb.

One thing to look out for are the bulbs that say HID but don't have the trasformer box to go with it. They are NOT real HID.

HID's for $100 bucks. I'll do it if it's that cheap. Has anyone else put these in? I haven't searched yet but I'm assuming there's probably a bunch of different kits out there.

Well i didn't think i would need to offer a prize, i figured that being know as the ultimate 3rd gen modder would be enough...Plus this is more for a refernce sheet for other people then anything else. I wish there had been one of these when i was spending weeks looking for all the mods i could do to my new toy! But i bet we can come up with something...

Oh and BTW you can post ANY mod that has not yet been posted. Be it something that is obvious to regular users. Just INCLUDE A LINK on what it is and how to do it.

This guy has 17 negative feedbacks in the last 30 days and you still did business with him? Hope it works out well for you, but I'd be skeptical. Even some of his positive feedbacks were littered with comments like "wrong color" and "kit not complete".

And honestly, just donate the cash to the site. All it is, is a copy and paste contest. Between the Tech sections and Bob's website I think most things are covered, and if they were not than they should be added to the Tech write ups.

Yeah, i saw that he had some negs but i also saw that they were the only ones that had the H4-2 bulbs at a good price. Believe me, i looked for over 6 hours at all the options. And overall his feedback was about on par with all the other sellers in that area. I got it in today and it looks good. All the parts are there. I plan on installing it next week. will post how it goes.

As for this thread, yeah, it is just a copy and paste thread. But when i was looking for all these type of things back when i was looking for them a few months ago i would have LOVED to find an all in one "dictionary" of all the mods that could be done. It took me weeks of going through all the different sites. And all the while I had to figure out if the mod was a 3rd gen or not.

My goal with this thread was not to bring out any new mods but to just have an all in one thread for the future modder that didn?t have a clue where to start. With links to the mods as well. That is one big problem I had when looking up mods. I would hear of one on here and when I would try to search for it, it would take FOREVER to find any real info (the search on here need some serious help BTW, I was messing around and tried to search for a thread I had started and it would not come up). This way there is an index of all the mods AND links to them for easy access. Looking through the write up section is great but it still does not have everything and it is also not the easiest thing to look through. If/When this thread ever gets a lot of mods in it I will take them all and make a nice and neat new thread with them all there so that future people can see them.
