Has anyone made any real money becoming a dealer. I am one just to get the discount on orders. Today, another amsoil dealer has called me up to see if I need any help or had any questions. Either he wanted to reap some type of benifit from amsoil or he was being very nice, kind of like saying welcome to the family. I was wondering why someone would buy amsoil products for full price through a dealer when they could pay the $20.00 themselves and get the discount? Thanks for the reply's.

You become a dealer by giving them $20 and your a dealer. If you want a six month membership (which gets you the dealer prices) you pay $10. The short term membership is what I did and I ordered stuff to last on my rig for 50k.

I think the only way to really make money (or at least make it worth the money you make) is if you have this as an added business to an existing one, like a repair shop or part supplier.

as an authorized (independent) amsoil dealer, lemme clarify a few things:

the preferred member program costs $10 for 6 months and $20 for a full year. these rates are renewable. you are NOT considered a dealer (as erroneously labeled above). you get the same wholesale price as the dealer. however, you cannot resell amsoil, receive a commission from sales (as they will be charged as a personal purchase), nor will you be allowed to ship to different mailing addresses other than your own. with regards to the last point, i'm not 100% sure of this but i was told this by two amsoil customer service reps who say that this prevents several people from using one account.

dealers are allowed to resell or finalize transactions to receive commission money. you can also purchase products with no tax (provided you have a reseller's license) and sell in your store (you'll have to pay the state sales tax, of course).

Thats some good info. I guess i am not on the up and up. Anyway, why would anyone buy from a dealer and not directly from the manufacturer? It is like instant savings, unless you wanted only a few items. Also, has anyone out there been able to make an actual living from doing so?

time wise, unless youre gonna devote yourself to the business and selling it to retailers, auto shops, etc, i dont think you'll make alot of money. therefore, if you dont have the time, just become a preferred member. you get the same discount as the wholesaler.

So I just pay $10 to become a member and order like 5-10 gallons? How do they sell it (ie in quarts, gallons)? Is there a certain package I should order to get a better deal. oh and a link to get it

You can buy 55 gal drums if you want to, then (5-30w) it's only 4.73/qt. Of course you have to front the $1,042.00 plus shipping ($116.37).

well we've got three benzs (12 quarts each), a lexus, a 4runner, a tundra, and a Previa. So oil, like gas, goes quickly here.

I don't know if I want 55 gallons, I don't have space to store it. but 5-10 gallons to start with would be good.

you can buy it by the quart, case, gallon, 4 gallon, 30 gallon, or 55 gallon

Lets say you buy (5W-30) three 4 gal jugs @ 89.60 ea. Thats $268.80, take off lets say 17%, that comes to 223.10,
add 10 bucks for 6mo prefered and 25.92 to ship
Total for 12gal would be 259.02 or 5.39/qt


Of course this could be more or less dependin on your choice of oil and the discount they give you.

Mossback .. thanks for the link. Why did you suggest 5w30. I usually just get 10w30 Dino oil. Is it different with the synthetic?

It wasnt a suggetion, just an example. 5W30 is what I put in my rig. I put 10W40 in my 94. I would put what ever the manufacture recomends. A few people around here run the 0W30. In my opinion thats just too thin.

The Series 2K is the most expensive, then SAE, the the XL-7500. You can only go 7500 miles on the XL-7500, the others are rated to 20k or 1 year, if you're brave enough
