are all 95.5 to 2004 tacoma frames the same?
hi everyone,
i have some pretty bad frame damage on my 1999 ext cab tacoma and i'm looking for a replacement frame. i couldn't find any info on this but i was wondering if all tacoma ext cab frames are the same from basically 96 to 04? also are the double cab's the same frame as well? it looks like it could be...and what about 2wd and 4wd, does that make any difference for the frame? any info is appreciated.

Looking up frame choices from the Carpart.com data base you have these options for selecting a frame. So I'd say there are (at the very least) some small differences in all these models. I would guess there is a big difference between a reg cab and a Xtra cab or double cab.

No, the frames are not the same. You need to find a frame that matches your exact application. They redesigned the front end, and the front frame section, in 2001 so I would say 98-00 would be your bet. Double cab frames are NOT the same.
