Alarm?? Remote Start on 5sp

i just scored a brand new Viper 791XV from a friend. it has a remote start feature on it, im just wondering do these work with manual trannys? i got the alarm for pretty cheap, and it has a whole bunch of goodies on it that i have no idea what they'll probably do, but i dont want it to go to waste becuase i cant use the remote start with a stick.

has anyone installed one on their manual tranny? if so do you just set the e-brake and leave it in neutral. if thats the case i can get in the habit of doing that.

mods feel free to move if this is in the wrong spot.

IMO its just not safe to have a remote start on a manual, thus all install shops would suggest against this. To many accidents occur and even injuries from a remote start on a manual, but as stated it can be done just not suggested. Just think if you leave it in gear one day by accident then go and push the button while you are parked in front of a child playing perhaps, the truck would lugg forward trying to start and and hurt the child.

Do not install the remote start feature!!!!!!
These trucks do not have a neutral safety switch and thus it is seriously unsafe to have a remote start on a manual tranny....in fact if your insurance ever got wind of it, they would drop coverage in a heartbeat. I do not suggest doing it even if you will be the only one driving it and you will remember 100% of the time to leave it in neutral. If you ever happen to leave it in gear and for whatever reason it does start, you have the potential to seriously injure or kill someone. Just don't do it.

On a different note, that is a great alarm and you can read my sig for help on the install and wiring.
