Aisin painting

Ok guys, I’ve got a set of aisins that I’m getting ready to paint. I’ve got them all stripped down and I’m trying to decide on what to use to prime and paint. I’ve read of people using Plastikote Autobody, Rustoleum, and powder coating.

Any other ideas??
Do you think powder coating would be worth it?

Several years ago I painted mine with Rustoleum Hardhat paint, and also clear coated them.

They still look pretty good for sitting outside 24/7.
It has to have been at least 4 years or so, maybe more.

More info on page 2 of my mods section.

I recommend that paint since it has held up so well.

The Plastikote paint hasn't held up anywhere I've used it. I'm planning to powdercoat when I can score a spare set cheap.

Cebby--Why do you need a spare?
To put on while you get yours done or to see how the powder coat looks?

I used Dupli Color Toyota Med Red Pearl for my dials and Plasti Kote gloss black for the surround cap. There is about 10 coats of each because it goes on fast and dries quickly. I didn't expect this "cheap" paint to hold up, but it still looks new after a year.
