Aisin Hubs

I want to do the mod of abandoning the ADD hubs and going with the Aisin manuals on my 93 4Runner. I've read all the tech and I understand (pretty much) what I need to do. I even know of a salvage yard that probably has some of the right "donor" vehicles. My question is cost. What should I expect to pay for these hubs from a salvage yard? The hubs would still be on the vehicle, so I would be removing them. Any ideas?

Expect to pay between $50 to $150 a set.
They more than likely will pull them for you for safety reasons.

However, I'd ask to watch.
When Jim on the forum here got his, we noticed the guy whacking them with a BFH, and Jim insisted on getting another one without the BFH marks all over it.

Once you get a good pair, follow the info in the "rebuild" article I have on my website in the mods section.

Thanks, Corey.

I've been to this salvage yard before for other stuff. They basically just turn you loose in there with your tools.

I'll leave the BPH at home!

Can I use regular paint on the handle? I'd like to match my truck paint, or do some other accent. How are yours holding up with the rustoleum hardhat paint? That isn't a high heat paint, is it?

Mine are holding up real great. It's not a heat paint.
I'm surprised by all the dirt & gravel that flies up from the trails we run that they are not chipped.

There are a few scratches on them, and that is from me last Oct. when I switched over to the winter tires & rims.

Kind of hard to pull off a wheel and put it back on again without getting a few small scratches in it.
