I decided to install a set of Air Lift air springs on my 2003 prerunner today. The pic shows what I encountered. With the air spring between the frame and leaf spring, it's so compressed that it's about 1 inch from bottoming out on the internal bump stop. What's going on, don't think this is normal. the part # on the kit is 59503.

Gotta say those are pretty cheesy from the looks of it. You might have to modify it, you shouldn't have to but thats what its looking like.

got it figured out. i inflated it to about 10 psi and the bladder straightened out. looks fine now. i just put one on so far, tomorrow the second. i'll post a couple of pics when i'm done. hopefully it will help someone else, since there is very little info on this style of air bag to be found.

here's the end result! everything went smooth once i figure out the first problem. i also installed the Air Lift compressor along with the gauge and controls. the gauge panel that came with the kit would not fit anywhere, so i got a single gauge pod from Summit Racing. they list it as being for 2001-2002 tacomas and 4runners, but it works perfectly on my '03.

since i had to seperate the gauge from the controls i mounted the on switch and bleeder valve right above the fuse door. that spot is single wall plastic and right by power. the kit comes with an adapter that goes on the fuse to get power, i used the ACC fuse.

i mounted the comperssor on the bottom side of the bed, front left corner.

the kits come with plenty of everything, and i have lots of parts left over. i've only taken a drive with the bed empty, i do have a cap. with the bags at 10 psi my truck is handling great. i have Bilsteen 5100s and before the bags the front always seemed a little squirley, i think because the fronts are set at the stiffest setting. the bags have curred that.

anyway it's an easy install. i probably spent longer just sitting in my cab trying to find a place to mount the control panel. the pod save my ass on that one, since there's no place to mount anything in these trucks and have it look decent.
