air bags & 4-links

I am looking all over this board for some help with the 3rd gen suspension. (02 4Runner LTD)
From what I know, it has IFS front and 4-link rear. Right?
I am looking for OME components for my lift I will be doing in a few months.
I want OME all around with 2-2½" lift. But I cannot quite get the grasp of the 4-link. What should I order when I am ready? I don't want to change angles on anything, just looking for a 2-2½ lift without needing to modify or hurt any other parts from the lift.
I want the HD coils with some nice shocks.
Is it a coil-over? I have no clue. Help.
Does anyone have airbags installed? If so, what did it run? Any problems? Just a thought I have in my head.
Do I make sense?

Whoa, there partner! Slow down and take a breath! I can't answer all of your questions for a number of reasons, but I can tell you I do have airbags inside the rear coils on my 4Runner. They work great when I want them to, and just ride along back there the rest of the time. I have not had anyproblems at all with them thus far.

When you lift the front, it will put your alignment out of whack. When you lift the rear, it will push the rear axle a bit to the right. That is because of the geometry of the panhard rod. The panhard rod is a rod that keeps the axle centered laterally. This isn't that big of a deal, but to make it correct, you need to get a panhard rod bracket extension. That will lower the mounting point on the truck body, restoring the original axle positioning.

That is all I have the energy to write about tonight. I'm tired. I got here (work) at 6:30 this morning and I am back here doing other stuff right now 10:30 and have a 55 mile drive home.

This should answer at least a couple of your questions.

Goodnight.

Any help is appreciated, believe me.
I thought it was just basically springs and shocks or coil-overs and that was all, as long as you didn't go too high and change angles.
I'm just a kid who got into this thing after wanting it for so long.
Kids dream of owning Ferraris and Lambos, while I was dreaming of my 4Runner. Speaking about Lambos. I'd like to get Lambo door mount kits on my 4Runner. Something different is something great.
I'm glad I bought the last year of the sexiest body style too.
It was like chasing after the hottest girl in school for me.
My baby is like a supermodel. Too bad that on the 3rd day I had it, I had a nice scratch in the front fender, plus many more nicks and dings from not having a garage and having evil kids in the area.

What about air bags so I can control my ride height? Would they be a good choice? If so, can anyone direct me to a place that has them for my truck?
Looking for good quality.

You have a coilover front suspension, and a 5 Link rear suspension. Just get some OME coil springs and be done with it, or some spacers, or a combo of both. Check out Steve's website for different setups

The 3rd Generation 1996-2002 4Runner suspension is unlike most typical 4 Wheel Drive vehicles in that it uses an IFS strut/shock assembly up front with a behind the front axle rack & pinion steering and a 4 link with a pan hard bar, coil suspension out back.

Borrowed from:

Just posting to clear up if it a four-link or not.
