you might get better mileage... what i mean by that is the engine will be able to breathe with less restriction...

however, when i put on an aftermarket performance muffler, i found i used more gas, not becasue the muffler wasnt helping mileage, but because it sounded so cool, that i was on wide open throotle more often...

After changing my muffler to a 50 series delta flow, I gained 1-1.5 miles to a gallon. Has anybody else gained miles?

It's mostly a mellow sound. Quiet at idle louder, tougher sound at WOT.

So, has anyone noticed a gain on their MPG???

what else did you do hawiian4r? just a muffler? im really looking in to Borla mufflers right now as i hear from everyone ive asked that they are a really high end brand.

im looking for an aggressive and throaty tone but i dont want it booming or too loud (dont want to wake my parents up when i sneak out).

Anyone else have any recommendations or noticed an inrease in gas mileage with just an aftermarket muffler? i drive decently conservatively (For gas mileage reasons)

I can't find the post right now but some guy on this board hated his Borla on his 3rd gen because it was very loud in the cabin of the truck. I believe he swapped it out for a TRD exhaust and is much happier. Do some searching before you buy the borla.

i know a guy whose running the delta flow 40 series from flowmaster and i think he just has a turn down after the muffler and its super super loud.. you can hear it from 1 to 2 blocks away. I dont want anything that loud, just something aftermarket thats a bit louder than stock but with a better tone. my local muffler shop mechanics aren't very social and so im a bit sketchy when i ask them for recommendations.. they tell me most people want the flowmaster mufflers... i'd like to do more research on the 50 and 60 series delta flow mufflers from flowmaster... any more suggestions and recommendations are welcome.

My 40 delta was loud. I made it louder by removing the cat and replacing it with a cherry bomb. It was really really loud. My girl used to live up Kaonohi Ave. I used to pass her house on the freeway, the sound was so lound she knew to get ready to come out side. I grew out of that, now I got a nice borla and I love it. The exhuast system help scavage gas better now that it has good flow. My MPG may have increased slightly, so that does help. With gas being $4.00 a gallon for premium, Im gonna save all I can.
