Aftermarket Leatherseats

My search for leather interior continues............. has anybody had experience with this vendor? http://www.autoleathers.com/HTML2/AL.MAIN.FS.html

I know that the customer's ride section is pretty nasty due to some serious attacks from color terriorists.

Leather seats

I would think you would have better luck upgrading to leather seats by pulling some out of a wreck.

No personal experience here. But I think that they sell katzskin brand covers, which is one of the best you can buy. I am currently looking to re-do all of the leather in my Celica and will probably go with katzskin.
I want to do my interior like my brothers IS300. Put the suedeskin on the inside part of the seat and the leather on the outside. That way you don't burn your legs in the summer!

That retailer sells Katzskin kits which are very good. I use a Classic Soft Trim kit which is also very good. They are the top 2 companies that dealers use for adding leather to showroom cars.

They even have a TRD package:

I bought a set off Ebay last year ($170) to redo the tired original Toy leather. The seller said it was original factory Toy leather....well it wasn't....it was better. The internal detailing was much better than the original set. When I get my pics back, I'll post them. The seats look GREAT!

Make sure that you buy a set of heavy-duty side cutting pliers (for cutting the old hog rings and they are tough), hog ring pliers (the straight set will do), a stretcher tool http://www.eastwoodcompany.com

Just redo the original seats. Get the right tools and plan on 4-5 hours per seat in front (I'm starting the back today). Take your time...an extra pair of hands comes in handy in a couple of places.

Good Luck!

I would vote for Classic Soft trim.

I have chatted with them and watched an install for about an hour a couple of weeks ago.

My local retailer/installer has been in the business 20 years and I have been working with him for 10.

He quit doing the Katz and only does Classic now.

The custom options are quite impressive..

Its half leather, half vinyl though. If I were to spend the time and money, I would go with 100% leather...

You guys are killing me with all the mods (not enuf $$$$) :pat:
....maybe I can find a set out of the boneyard since I have the oak color not gray.
Are the factory stock ones all leather? What is not?

Hate to spoil things...but almost all OEM leather seats are leather/vinyl combo. Leather is used only on the seating areas and vinyl on the sides and back(including Toyota). Even Katzkin and Classic Soft Trim do this. They do this for costs and also for strength. Only very high end vehicles use all leather. I know Mercedes are one of them. That's why I posted that auction because if it's a good brand of leather(Katzkin/Classic Soft Trim), then it's a good price.
