After Market Exhaust
At some point in my truck's life the exhaust was hacked into small pieces and replaced with some ghetto rigged nastiness. If I drive with my window open and stop at a stop light/sign, I get a nasty wiff of exhaust. Somebody cut and turned the pipe and made some sort of side exit (didn't have enough pipe to do it right) exhaust that exits right under my driver's side door. The exhaust the is there is rusted and leaking. I was hoping to replace the whole system with an after market one. What are some of the better (inexpensive) kits. Where could I get the best idea. Or should I have my local muffler shop do it.

You probably will have the best luck with a reputable muffler shop. They can cut and bend new pipes to fit what the other person wrecked. It would be kind of expensive to buy an entire Toyota exhaust to go from the manifold back.

Don't know what engine or year your truck is, but Downey has an exhaust kit forsomewhere around $300, that includes everything except headers, but I think you could get it done cheaper at a muffler shop, and then you get more options as far as muffler to use and tube size.

Any auto parts store can sell you an oem fit exhaust. Just two pipes and a muffler from the cat back. Generic Walker will fit cost about $100 for it all. Higher performance Dynomax will fit, be larger and louder, and cost about the same.
