Advice on buying 02' 4Runner SR5
Going to buy a Black 02 4Runner Sport. Fully Loaded. Diff Lock, push button 4WD, leather, sunroof. Guy seems to have done the diff oil changes and oil changes all on time. Just really not much else. No records kept but I pulled the dipsticks and oils look good. 110K miles and timing belt not done, doesn't leak anything at all. Never gone off road. He gets 18-20 MPG @ 80 MPH regular fuel. All freeway miles.
Runs good, drove and rides good too. I offered him $500 under clean trade because of the timing belt and will need new tires before winter. No accidents.
What do you guys think?
Here is a list of things to do to it in the next year:
New Tires ($500)
Timing Belt / WP maybe cam seals (I may be able to do it myself). Do you guys do the cam seals with the TB/WP?
Here is what I can definetly do myself:
Transfercase oil change (that is a HUGE bolt BTW)
Transmission oil drain/fill
Diff Drain/Fill
Spark Plugs (Wires are good)
Fuel Filter
Good 5w30 (probably syn blend oil) with Toyota Filter
My reason for buying this particular one is I wanted a Black Sport. I like the limited, but had to have the all black instead of the 2 tone. Very, very rare to find all black in Limited.
I wanted to check the rear axle seals, but it didn't have a jack in the back??? WTF. So I wasn't able. It stops really smooth and effortlessly. The owner says he didn't know it was missing in 80K.

sounds pretty good to me. but the little things add up. i would go below what he is asking to cover what it needs done, but not to low to the point where it looks like you wanna get it cheap.

You've certainly got some maint. ahead of you. If you're dead set on this one, use that as a heavy bargaining chip.
Tires will set you back at LEAST $600, probably closer to $700+ with mounting
A timing belt/water pump runs about $550
Tranny oil change about $80

I offered him $500 below what he wanted and he took it. It turned out to be $500 below clean trade
Is this a good deal?
I can do most of the little maint. myself (spark plugs, diff drain/fill etc.)
