I know this question has been asked a million times and now that I went to search for it the search feature is not working so I will post again.

I want to put 32x11.5 Yokohama Geolander A/T II tires on my 95 on the stock rims. I have no lift but plan on installing the Downey HD coils in the rear soon to get rid of the sag and cranking the torsion bars up front to even it out.

My question is will these tires fit on the stock rims and will there be enough clearance?

Anyone who has 32" x 11.5"'s on the stock 2nd gen rim could answer my question pretty quickly

I live in Reno and the Tire Rack warehouse is here so I can pick all four of them up for the low price of 376 and not have to worry about paying shipping.

I know that they'll fit on the stock rims with no problem. Since you're putting a little lift on your runner, then you shouldn't have any rubbing problems either. Good luck.

the salesman at tire rack said the stock rim is 7" wide and there is no way the 11x5 size would fit...I thought it was an 8" wide rim...this is the reason he gave that it wouldn't work

They should fit with no lift. The salesman has no idea what he's talking about. I know for a fact that they will fit. I had them on mine.

and yes the stock rim is 7" wide, but you can still fit a 11.5" tire on it. He's just saying that so you buy new wheels also.

I forgot to say that in my world the laws of physics don't apply. That is how I got my tires to fit my 7in wide rims.

The sales guy doesn't know what he's talking about. However, some places might not mount that tire to those rims because the rim size falls outside the tire manufacturers specifications. You might have to shop around.

Have you experienced any adverse effects to mounting a 32" inch tire on a 7" wide rim...Im doing some searching right now and people are warning of premature wear and unfavorable ride.

It shouldn't be a problem if you run the tire pressure at a level where the tread is flat (i.e. not riding on the center-overpressure-of the tire). I had 32" on my 7" stockers for about two years and had no problems.

I am also running 32x11.5" tires on stock SR5 alloys. I get *very* minor rubbing when I hit a larger bump with the steering wheel turned part way--but the tire is merely hitting the plastic wheelwell liner. It only does it turning left.

I have to run my tires at 28-30 psi to keep the tire wear even. How much pressure are you guys running on the street with this wheel/tire combination?

I have no regrets with this setup.

I just moved up from 31's to 32's yesterday and I love it already. I did some minor offroading in them in some mud and got no noticable rubbing or problem with the stock rims. They tried to tell me only 31's would work but i told them i "talked to the dealership and they said it was fine" which of course i didn't do and they said whatever you say and mounted them. Hope you do it.

i'd like to add a question to this thread....i have a '90 SR5 completly stock with 31x10.50's. i'm going to do the downey 2.5 coil lift with cranking up the tbars and i'd like to put 32x11.50's on it. in the early 90's the runners with 31's came with the spare tire carrier on the rear rather than underneath. when i look at the clearance between the spare tire and the bumper it looks real close. can i put a 32x11.50 spare tire on the stock tire carrier? has anyone here done that? i don't want to have to pay for a tire mounting and see that it doesn't fit.

I ordered the 32" x 11.5 Geolander AT II and will be picking them up on Thursday afternoon...I will have them mounted on Saturday and will post pics after...thanks guys for all your help!

As a side-note, my '94 V6 5-speed came from the factory with 4.56 gears and, combined with 32" tires, the gearing is absolutely perfect for my tastes.

Ok, technically I get a very, very slight rub, like what you're talking about, ken. Except, mine only does it when I'm turning right and backing up! It's really nothing, though, I can't even find any rub marks.

I try to run 32psi with my scorpions ATs.

MikeD, 32s should fit, but I'm not 100% sure. When I look at my 31 spare I think I can see about 1/2" of space around the tire.

Opening back up an old thread. (See, I use the search feature every now and then ).

Since I'm getting my 32x11.5 MTs soon and since they will be mounted on 15x7 wheels, I also want to know what pressure I should be running at. I know about how to find out for sure, but I'd rather hear the correct number who have already tried and tested it all out already as to save me the trouble.

So far the only numbers I have found are the 28-30psi as listed above. Any others care to share some pressure settings for me?
