AC Problem 3rd gen
Hi folks,
I have a problem with my AC on my 97 limited.
When i press the ac button, it wont stay in. If I hold it in I can hear and feel the ac working, but the button wont stay depressed.
Similarly with the fresh air / recirculate button, it wont stay depressed either, but I can hear the servo motor moving when I keep the button pressed.
Any ideas on what could be causing this?
Thanks

Pulled the control panel and had a good look at the switches. They all seem fine, not dirty or anything. They are not click in and out switches so I don't think it's a mechanical problem. It must be electrical, but all the fuses I can see check out ok

Ok after a bit more investigation it seems like Toyota used panasonic micro switches behind the ac and recirc buttons. I think these two should latch down to keep the ac on or switch between fresh/recirc air.
Mine are not latching down so that looks like the problem. So I'm going to try and get replacement micro switches and see if this fixes it.
unless there is a way to repair the latching mechanism on these ones?
