ABS Light Code 4 9 What is this?
99 4runner 2wd v6
abs light on all the time
pulled code 4 9
Please someone tell me
1: what the book says this is
2: anyone who has fixed this code before if there was an easier or different solution (such as cleaning a sensor instead of replacing.)
Thanks!

ABS Light >>> code 49
Hey thanks guys Ill test the switch. I very sure my brake lights work, but I know most brake pedal switches are double pole so maybe the secondary switching for the ABS coomputer is bad.
How do I reset this code so I can test any repairs????

ABS Light >>> code 49
I left both battery cables off for over an hour, The light is still there, even when I first start the car before pressing the brake or anything.
Someone please explain exactly how to reset the abs light.
My brake lights work fine.
I took the brake switch off the pedal and tested with a multimeter... everything seems like it worked fine.
In my past experience, when you have a code like "Open circuit in stoplight switch circuit" there are usually one or maybe two very common points of failure. Anyone with experience repairing this excact code.
Thanks.
