About to Lift - Want critiques
Hey guys,
It's time to lift. Heres what I have so far:
Front:
-OME 880 coils
-Tokico shocks
-Differential Drop
Rear:
-OME 890 Coils
-Rear Extended Length Shocks
-Pahard Drop Bracket
What am I missing, if anything?
If I choose to install it myself, what are my odds of doing it in a day/not killing myself/my truck?

Be careful with the spring compressors, you might want a buddy that has used it before. It can definitely be done in a day. Please post pics after you are done, I am getting my stuff together as well for a lift, very similar to your. Good luck!!!

You won't need a front diff drop with the 880's, but definitely doesn't hurt to have it. Did you already purchase all of the above items? Or are you asking for opinions on what you've already bought?

Have you look on wheelersoffroad? He sells stainless steel braided brake lines. Depending on what your budget is and if you are willing to wait. Anyway, heres the link:

with my lift i you will need an extended rear brake line (what kind of rig is this?) and if you want to wait a bit i would sell you my adjustable panhard bar. you dont need to weld to adjust the pan hard bar location and it is much easier to dial in.
look at Sonoran Steel and that will give you a good idea of everything you need.
AND i strongly suggest paying the 20 bones and get your struts put on by a shop. Dont forget to mark the location of the top plate relative to the bottom bushing.

If you're planninig on an after market front bumper I'd use the 881's up front, if a winch is in the future consider the 882's. The OME shocks are very good parts. I would at least consider them.

The 890's will lift your rear much higher than the 880's will lift you front.
To even it out you will need to add a spacer to the front, or go with shorther906 coils in the back. Pan hard will not be needed with the 906's.

Cxrazy - curious what brand of shocks you are looking at for the rear? I am hoping to be right behind you and 2000t4raks in doing this kind of lift.
I have been reading about the Bilstein 5125s, not sure if those are an option with this lift....

Ron, here is my setup:
Part #OME-N91SC (Sold as a Pair)
Part #OME-N86C (quantity: 2)
Part #OME881 (quantity: 2)
Part #OME906 (quantity: 2)
After much research on here and talking back and forth with MTL_Runner (Jaime) I decided to go with OME all around. Like skjos has already mentione, the 890s will really give you a rake. Jaime has ran the same setup as Cxrazy and he did not like the rake due to the rear being much much higher than the front. The setup that I will be getting is the same setup as MTL_Runner has. Now keep in mind that it is a mild lift and that's exactly what I want since it is daily driver. Also, it is a simple swap and it's alot less hassle because I don't have to worry about a diff drop which means I don't have to worry about my CV angle either. Hope this helps.

Ive got the 881's in the front and let me tell you compressing those springs was scary. I tried taking them to a couple places and one said they couldn't do it and the other said the springs broke their machine. We ended up renting a compressor from Advance Auto Parts and just going for it, but still....scary as hell haha. Good luck.

If you tow every weekend, then you might want to get the OME890 but I still think the OME906 might work for you. I have heard that they don't settle much even with towing.

IMHO the 891's will suffice you in the extra payload. It looks like you'll have a nice set-up. OME NitroCharger shocks are also an option.
Spring compressors are scary, but if used with caution, properly, and with assitance it can be done without any danger. They do come with safety's.
x2 though on the recommendation to take the struts a shop, it's much easier if you don't have power tools. From experience compressing LC coils with just a ratchet is bad news bears.
With a buddy and no huge mishaps, probably 4-5 hours if it's your first lift.
Drop bar isn't really necessary at first, but do it right the first time. I never extended brakelines, but i know i should, and if you do the stainless braided ones work well.

anyone got the latest newest version of the Old Man Emu chart of spring rates and heights? My version is 2 years old and does not even list the 891 or 906s.
I don't tow for example, but lately I have been hauling about 500-700 lbs of rock in my back end for a driveway and walkway project.
Of course information is a dangerous thing for me to have he hee he
2000 traks I got your setup printed and on my wall and that is what I am leaning towards-I like a small bit of the rake however and want to be sure what you have picked is also good for me. So many choices and luckily I won't even be attempting the install....

I am not sure where to even get the OME chart for spring rates. That's why I am going with the OME setup all around. When you are ready to purchase, make sure you PM TRDpartsU because so far they are the cheapest around. When I got the quote back in March, I got the whole setup for $665.00 SHIPPED to Sacramento, CA from Gerone at TRDparts4U. So far, all I have is the OME front shocks (Part #OME-N91SC - a pair ). I will be getting the rest soon.

I installed the Downey HD coils into my 4runner and didn't use a spring compressor. If you have the truck jacked up from the frame you can use the stock jack to "jack out" the axle from the frame and the coils drop right in.
