99 4Runner newbie, SC/Suspensions questions

Hello,

I have a stock 99 4x4 with 295 75 16's installed, with stock suspension that is in need of replacing! I want to stay as much as OEM is that possible? also I want to know more on the 3.4 Supercharger from those that have one. My question is can you get away with 89 octane or do you have to use 92 octane? My hood doesn't have the cool intake in the middle(dammit) or the e-lock(double dammit) :pat: Do I need to have that intake to have the supercharger? are those even intake into the engine? Anyways still reading all that have a 4runner 99-00 to learn. For those that are in Northridge Ca do you know any good 4x4 clubs around here for a newbie to join??

again this site is the best so far! Thanks in advance for your tips!

hoodscope is non-functional from the factory, unless you do something to make it functional.

you have 295s stock? you must have some sort of lift and different wheels. do a search on superchargers, there are tons of threads about it.

welcome to yt! prepare to empty your bank account

I don't have a s/c but I've read aton about them here. You need to run 91 octane as we don't have 92 readily available in Socal. Either way, you need to run premium.

Be prepared to do more than slapping in the s/c. You should do fuel mods (e.g., TRD 7th injector, URD fuel mods, etc.), a valve body upgrade from Level 10 or such if you have an auto, colder plugs, a tranny cooler, and so on.

Please search as there have been many posts on this subject.

There are a bunch of setups for suspensions which have been beat to death on YT so I won't rehash all those and their pros and cons so just use the search function and you'll find all the reading you can handle.

Premium only with the S/C and you need to do fuel mods with that (so add another $1000 to the total for those).

Hood scoop is only for looks.

E-locker can also be added later as well as any number of aftermarket lockers as well.
