99 4runner with 5speed/e-locker sport up on C-list in Boulder, CO

I have seen posts around here looking for this exact truck. If I was employed....I would be all over this deal.

$9000 for a sport with elocker and stick with 138K? Wow....

Nice. I like the green, too. But at $8888, it'd end up over 10k after taxes and fees.

I didn't think about the taxes and what not but I'm sure they would come down in price after haggling with them for a bit.

Check this guy's runner with 328K miles and his asking price

True. And I'm not saying it's not a good deal. I know vehicle demand/price can fluctuate quite a bit depending on what area of the country you're in.

'mileage is a little high'. With that mileage I wonder if he's tried the strawberry milkshake??

I'd offer $7,500 and settle at $8,000

I bet it's already sold.

When I was looking for my 5speed elocked 3rd Gen, the average time from the seller posting their truck for sale, and having the money in their hand, seemed to be about 36 hours. And they'd often be gone the same day the ad was posted.

I spoke to several shell-shocked previous-owners who would tell me I was like the 20th person to call that day.

Seems expensive.

I bought mine in October this year --- '99 w/ E-locker, 5spd, cloth interior, moonroof, no running boards, and 100,720 miles with records --- $6500. Bought it from a female private seller, 2nd owner, in Spring Valley, CA. 1st owner bought it as a lease and turned it back in after the 3rd year of ownership.

It started out at 11,888 about two weeks ago. Looks like a pretty significant price drop.

A stick would be sweet in the snow. I like the auto for off highway dirt.

honestly i love the stick 3rd gen because they are a hell of a lot faster but for wheeling i really like my automatic, but then again i dont rock crawl or mud pit, i just trail it up.

clip and save for future use

It is apparently sold-craisglist posting is gone

Keep me in mind guys- I am 3 years into my 3rd gen.. It is a salvage title with all 4 doors from another vehicle. No one can tell but the best of the body shop guys....I typically trade up at 5 years. Got it at 41K miles and now has 85K miles.

It has all the goodies-except the sport hood and supercharger. Still it leaves Mustang GTs at the stop lights until they wake up and chase me down.

I'll be ready for a Tacoma double cab eventually-soon as I can find one with a 5 speed. AND every other little thing I need....

Ron, unfortunately, such a configuration does not exist. The 01-04 Double Cabs (the only years that the 1st Gen Tacoma Double Cabs were available) were ONLY offered in auto. You could do a transmission swap, maybe. The new Tacoma's (05+) come with 6-speed, but I've heard they're not as stout as the older 5-sp transmissions.

Good luck on the search. I've enjoyed my 4Runners in the past, but I really like my Tacoma now.

I bet the guy got close to to that current asking price since the original Highlander versions do command a slight better asking price than other trim levels among the knowing Toyota crowd especially with the 5 speed and locker.

I picked up my '99 Highlander edition 4runner for $7,800 w/ e-locker, sunroof, and 145k miles.

Best vehicle i've ever owned.

Keep in mind that the '99 was the Highlander package, not the 'Sport'.
