98 4Runner Steering Issue

I have a 98 4Runner with 265,000 miles. I recently had the steering rack replaced per my dealer's recommendation due to a leak. The steering does feel smoother and more solid now. However, whenever I make a very hard turn it seems that my turning radius is slightly less. Could this be acceptable since the old rack may have gotten "loose" allowing tighter turns? Will the new steering rack "loosen up" over time and allow tighter turning? Thanks.
