98 4runner 'power blip?' Help
Here's the low down: (i have a 1998 4runner 3.4L with supercharger...)
I was driving along today at a constant of 60mph, and i felt a sudden power loss blip. the tach may have moved but i didn't notice it. At first i thought i hit a bump then it happened again... and again a few moments later. then i was fine the rest of the drive...
Any theories out there? Here's what i was thinking:
Supercharger belt slippage/or timing belt? How long do they last? i did notice it has small cracks on the inside...
Also when it is below zero in the mornings the truck squeals alittle...
Fuel delivery... maybe something got through my filter?
Clutch slipping? (i was in 5th...though)
Help
Thanks!
Matt

fix your belts. you did mention one had some cracks in it. there is no such thing as a superficial crack in automotive belts, if theyre cracked, replace em.

As far as tune up what do you have in mind? ECU tune?
She is pretty up to date on maintenance, lubes and such but i think you guys are right i need new belts... i have an extra s/c belt i might just do the whole front, i might even have the original timing belt on...!
How difficult is it to do belts? (Never made an attempt) I have a good (warm) place to work on it and the basic tools...
I guess I'll swing into a stealership and pick one up or have them just throw it on...
Thanks for the feed back! Much Appreciated!

Did the belts : no more issues, we even had -14 degree morning the other day and it didn't repeat.
Thanks all for the advice, I'll make sure I'm up on my maintenance from here out.
