97 Dash Lighting - No Illumination?
I've been intending to post this Q for a while.
Are the climate controls supposed to be illuminated in my 97 4runner? OR did Toyota intentionally design it so you can't see the climate controls at night?

Yes they should be illuminated.
Easy fix: pull off the HVAC controls and then stick your finger in the A/C controls and gently pop off the panel. It should pull of fairly easy and in the countless times I've done it, nothing has ever broken.

There should be two bulbs back there (3 maybe?) that are easily replaceable. Take one out, take to the parts store, insert, and be on your way.
