97 3RZ Taco O2 sensor wiring color designations? Anybody have a FSM to referance?
Doin' some work that requires me to map out the secondary O2 sensor wiring harness. It has 4 wires that are colored as follows: 1- brown, 1-black, 1-red w/ white stripe, & 1-white with red stripe.
I need to know what the FSM says the colors are. One is the sensor signal, one is the sensor ground, one is the +12V heater, and the last one is the heater ground....... BUT WHICH ONEZ WHICH???
The wire colors change after the O2 sensors connector. On the O2 side of the connector the wires are 1-white, 1-blue, and 2 blacks. Once I know harness's designations I can map out the sensors wires.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!! In the mean time I'll be breaking out my trusty meter and trying to map it out manually but any clarification or verification of my findings would be great.
TIA

All I can tell is that brown has 0 ohms and the red w/ white stripe has 2ohms when grounded to the cassis but what's that tell me??? LOL I'm thinkin' that brown is heater ground and the red w/ white stripe is sensor ground but have no clue how to tell for sure and I need to know for SURE.

Black is the signal wire
Red w/White Stripe is the heater ground controlled through the ECU to complete the circuit.
White w/Red stripe is the 12+ heater power, on all the time the key is on.
Brown is the sensor ground.
So, now you have all the info, what are you working on??

Gadget: Does the ECU go in to "limp" mode when the rear o2 sensor fails and causes the CEL or does it just cause the CEL (& code) to come on and that's about it??
