Question 97 3.4 IAC/TPS Problems

Okay i just got a 97 3.4L ext cab tacoma about a month ago. When i got it the IAC sensor was burnt up and broken so i went ahead and replaced the whole unit, took neg off battery before starting again to let the computer reset. The truck drove much better overall and was decent on gas. Except the idle after that was steadily at 3000rpm, cold or hot. No difference. I have also replaced the TPS too. That was making overall drivabilty horrible. It was jerky and had no power and i could feel that it wasn,t reading where my foot was at in the trottle. So since then i still cannot get my idle to correct itself, and when i'm coming up to a red light or to a stop the rpm's dive down like its wanting to idle at the right spot as soon as i take it out of gear but pick's back up. Or most of the time it starts to bounce up and down for only a few seconds, mabe four to five time's total. And with the IAC unplugged my rpm's are at about 1400 or so. My guess is that the IAC isn't woring right. I've read and read and read on here and can't find anthing alike it going on with anyone else. I'm also wondering if the line connected to the IAC is spoced to have coolent in it or air. I have air. Dry as a bone. I've been through all vacuum lines and i drove it a good 30 miles since the reset and replacement of all this thinking my computer would smooth everything out. Any Help would greatly help. Its drinking gas and i'm kind gritting my teeth about driving it the way it is.

The IAC is supposed to have coolant lines going to it. If they are dry you've got a problem.

Okay thank you for clearing that up. I've traced that line and it goes into the back of the manifold. Not sure where from there. Would it be wise to do a flush. Then when empty force air or maybe water down it? So lost. Think it could be clogged? My coolent is new cause the radiator is too. Hmmm...any advise would help thanks - Steven

Okay it turns out the line i was looking at was the actual air line, meaning its spoced to be dry lol. My coolent lines were capped off on my old IAC so i didn't think anything of it and capped them on the new one. So where do these coolent lines go? I have searched on those hose's and i cant find a diagram or anyone else with them completely capped off. Thanks for all the help!!!

Actually this one might be more correct. I'm not sure where I got the other pic. It might be for a 3.0 since it has an EGR valve.

Okay poking at it as we speak. Its looking as though the first picture is closest. Mine looks like the inlet and outlet have been bridged. Ca someone go look at thiers real fast and tell me if the correct coolent lines are behind the IAC about four iches, towards the fire wall, and about an inch apart? And the outlet being the tube towards the front of the truck and the one behind that is the inlet if i'm guessing right. Wish i had a yota budy with a newer truck so i could compair but i dont. Thats what i have you guys for! Thanks!
