96 Tacoma Oil shooting out of tailpipe

Hey guys I just had a quick question, I have a 96 Tacoma Reg Cab 2wd with the 2rz that I bought in June and I've had this problem for a while now.

As you can see there is oil literally coming out of the tailpipe. I use about 2 quarts a week. The engine gets good mileage and other than this runs perfectly. The thing that worries me about this is that the previous owner told us that he had the engine rebuilt 10,000 miles ago. (150K)

Any thoughts on what the problem is would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Haven't run across that before. I believe if the rings were allowing blow-by, then you'd have oil combustion and blue-ish white smoke. Not being familiar with that particular engine I would guess that you have oil leaking around the valve guides into the exhaust side. At a minimum you should check the compression and probably then have the head looked at for seals and/or cracks. I'm surprised you don't have a CEL for a damaged catalyctic converter or 02 sensor.

Are you sure you even have a catalytic converter thats not hollow? It should be burned up and come out as smoke! You might want to pull the plugs and see which cylinder has oil in it. But either way, the rebuild didn't go as planned, that's for sure.

@111DB: Yeah thats what my Dad thought it was. Glad its likely not the rings as that would be a ton of $$$ to fix. I'll tell him what you recommended. If his STi was doing this it would've been fixed a long time ago...
@DailyDrive: I took a pic of it IDK if you can tell what it is by looking at it. It doesn't smell like my dad's STi (no cats) and it passed emissions in June so I assume it works (we'll see how long that lasts...)
