96 4runner 4wd 3.4L v6 oil pan gasket
96 4runner 4wd 3.4L v6 oil pan gasket
looking at sorting out the oil pan gasket on my 4runner. it is stock no real mods. looks like the oil pan won't come out with the front axle in place just looking for some help on how to change the gasket. the axle is of the ADD variety and the are no visible bolts to remove the outer drive shafts(the CV ones) from the axle. how do they come of.
ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED

To get the CV axles out, you are going to need to break loose the hub nut.
Raise the rig, remove the front wheels, drain the diff fluid, remove the black dust cover on each axle. Put the wheels back on, lower the rig, break the nuts loose (with a breaker bar). Raise the rig, take off the wheels, remove the hub nuts. Now, under each spindle remove the (4) 14mm bolts. Slide the spindle out of the way while tapping the CV shaft out of the spindle. Once the spindle is clear, pop the inner shaft out of each side of the diff.
Just make sure you have to do all this for the oil pan removal. Front diff R&R is a lot of work.
