'94 3.0

I have '94 3.0 4x4 which i just had a new remaned engine put in. I have a few questions that hope someone can answer.

1- What is the black button with the green insert by the shifter. When I press it a light lights up in cluster for somethin power. What does this do and is it for performance or what.

2- I picked up a '84 front and rear axle housing's complete for a SAS. The book says to remove the axle nuts with 52mm socket after bending the tabs up. But this one doesn't have tabs that lockem in place, it has 3 torqxe head screws that look like they need to come out. Is this right or do I have something different. I trying to get the birfields out rebuild and change to 5.29's.

Thanks in advance for any info

Dale Bright

i think that little button is for the ect.(electronically controlled transmission) or its just a pwr button or something. I think it just lets the transmission hold each gear longer. least thats the way it is on my dad's LC.
