93 Cluster to 87???

Anyone know if the Cluster from a 93 will go into an 87??

I've been needing a new one for a while and there's a free one available but I have no clue if it would even work.

It will not. the dash design changed in 89 (for truck) and 90 for 4runner. SO even if it is a plug and play, it will not fit in the dash. Good luck on youre search. I have an old one from my rig. Non Sr5. if you are interested.

I think mines an Sr5. That's been my biggest problem so far. Finding one that actually has a Tach.
I didn't think it would work but with as many build ups and "make it works" on this board I thought there might be a chance. Thank you.

I do have an Sr5 cluster, but it is from an automatic and the pins are different thatn that of a 5 speed. But considering all the work Crash has done it may not be a problem for him to at least take the tach out and put it in yours.

mines an auto!!

The reason I need a new cluster is cause my temp guage doesn't work. It runs hot even when the truck isn't hot lol
Crash said it would be best just to replace the whole cluster.

I will ask Crash but I have a feeling since the issue with yours is the temp guage and that's what's bad in mine it wont do much good but thank you.

Oh I'm always intrested. I've been looking for one for about a year now and like mentioned. No one ever seems to have one with a Tach so if you know any areas I can look, I'm all ears

Your SR5 cluster oil/temp gage can be replaced in less than 10 minuets with a #2 Phillips screw driver.
5 screws in cluster cover, 4 screws in cluster, under hood remove speedometer cable from firewall clip and push slack into cab. Depress clip on cable and wiring plugs.
The clear face is glued to the black mask. Do not put pull on crystal when uncliping black mask from white housing. Be sure the top two metal mounting brackets are removed first.
There are 4 sections each held into housing with 4 screws from back. If oil/temp gauge doesn't come right out remove tach to access back of gauge.

Complete mint SR5 cluster $100.00
Crystal $50.00
4cyl tach $30.00
6cyl tach $20.00
Speedometer $15.00 (will roll close to desired miles)
oil/temp, fuel/alt or fuel/ETC gauge $10.00
84 to 86 tachs and speedometers had horizontal and vertical stripes.
87 - 88 tachs and speedometers had only horizontal lines.

ok I'll have to talk to crash and see which idea he likes. I have a feeling he likes the idea of the whole cluster.

Is this a Used cluster??
